Terms of Use
Effective date: 13 August 2026.
These terms cover your use of drawdaily.app and the daily lesson email. The site is published by DFRT Limited, a limited liability company incorporated in Hong Kong (Body Corporate), Hong Kong Business Registration Certificate Number 78908767-000-10-25-1, registered office Unit 2A, 17/F, Glenealy Tower, No. 1 Glenealy, Central, Hong Kong. In these terms, "DFRT Limited", "we", "us" and "our" all mean that company, and "you" means the person reading the site or receiving the email. Please also read our Privacy Policy and our Legal Notice.
1. Agreeing to these terms
By visiting the site, subscribing to the daily email, or creating an account, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
2. What Draw Daily is
Draw Daily publishes one pencil-drawing lesson a day. Each lesson has a subject, a difficulty level, a skill focus, a suggested duration, a short description, ordered steps, a few pro tips, a self-evaluation prompt, and a reference sketch image. Lessons go up on the site and are emailed each morning to subscribers. Past lessons stay in the archive, and there are longer written guides alongside them. That is the whole product: no course, no certificate, no tutor.
3. It is free, and it may change
Draw Daily is entirely free. There is no paid tier and we take no payments of any kind.
We may change, pause, or discontinue any part of the service at any time, including the daily email, the archive, and accounts. We do not promise that a lesson will appear on any given day, or that an email will arrive at a particular time, or at all.
4. Who can use it
You need to be at least 13 to subscribe or create an account, or older where your country sets a higher age for consenting to online services (16 in parts of the European Economic Area). The service is not directed at children below those ages and we do not knowingly collect their data. If we learn that a subscriber is under the applicable age, we will delete the record. Younger children are welcome to draw along, but a parent or guardian should hold the subscription and supervise.
5. Accounts and signing in
An account is optional: you can read every lesson and get the daily email without one. It exists so you can mark lessons as complete and see your streak, your completion heatmap, and a few simple charts.
Sign-in is by emailed link. There is no password. We never set one, never ask for one, and have none to lose. When you want to sign in, you give us your email address, we send a one-time link to it, and clicking that link signs you in.
That puts your email account at the centre of your security. Anyone who can read your inbox can sign in as you, so keep it protected and do not forward sign-in emails. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at hello@drawdaily.app if you think someone else has had access to your inbox.
Your streak and completion history are a bit of encouragement, not a permanent record, so please do not rely on them surviving a technical failure or a change to how accounts work. You can ask us to delete your account and everything in it at any time, as set out in section 16.
6. Acceptable use
Read the lessons, print them, draw from them, come back tomorrow. Beyond ordinary use, please do not:
- scrape the site, or use crawlers or scripts to download lessons or images in bulk (ordinary search engine indexing is fine);
- republish the archive, or a substantial part of it, on another site, app, feed, or mailing list;
- use the lesson text or reference images as training data for machine learning models without our written permission;
- probe the security of the site, or try to reach accounts or data that are not yours;
- subscribe an address that is not yours, place excessive automated load on the site, or interfere with email delivery to other subscribers;
- remove attribution, or present the lessons as your own work or as endorsed by us.
If something is not clearly covered here, ask. We are usually happy to say yes.
7. The lessons are generated by AI. Please read this part.
The lesson text is written by an AI model (OpenAI GPT-4o), and the reference sketch images are produced by an AI image model (OpenAI gpt-image-2). A script runs each morning, generates the lesson from a prompt we wrote, generates the image, and publishes both. No art teacher writes them, and no human reviews each one before it goes out.
We say that plainly because it changes how you should read what you get:
- an instruction can be inaccurate, vague, or awkwardly worded, and a step will occasionally not follow from the one before it;
- terminology may be used more loosely than a trained instructor would use it;
- a reference image can contain artefacts, odd proportions, or a level of finish that is not achievable in the stated time, and the duration and difficulty rating are model estimates rather than measured figures.
Treat each lesson as a prompt to get you drawing, not as authoritative tuition. The material is general educational information, not professional art instruction. It is not a substitute for a qualified teacher or a class, and we make no claim that following it will produce any particular result. Apply your own judgement: if a step looks wrong to you, it may well be, and you should ignore it and draw the thing your way.
If a lesson is misleading or an image is a mess, tell us at hello@drawdaily.app and we will fix or remove it. One thing we can promise about the AI side: we send no subscriber or account data to OpenAI. The prompt contains only lesson parameters and the subjects already used, so the model avoids repeating itself.
8. Drawing safely
Drawing means physical materials and a lot of repetitive hand and wrist movement. You are responsible for your own wellbeing and for your workspace. Sit comfortably, work in decent light, take breaks. Stop if you feel pain, numbness, tingling, or strain, and do not push through it because a lesson says twenty minutes. If you use blades, fixatives, or solvents, follow the manufacturer's instructions and ventilate the room. If you have a medical condition or a concern about repetitive strain, speak to a qualified health professional first. Nothing on the site is health advice.
9. Our content, and what you may do with it
The site, its design, the written guides, and the lesson and image material are owned by or licensed to DFRT Limited, to the extent that rights exist in them. The legal status of AI generated text and images differs between countries, and we do not claim more than the law actually gives us.
You have a free, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the lessons for your own drawing practice: save them, print them, work from them offline for as long as you like. You may share a link, quote a short extract with credit, and use a lesson to teach a class or a drawing group free of charge, as long as you keep the attribution. The licence does not cover selling or redistributing the lessons or images, packaging them into another product, using the images as stock artwork, or copying the archive in bulk.
The drawings you make are entirely yours. We claim no rights over your work and we never see it: there is no upload feature.
10. Emails, unsubscribing and your data
If you subscribe, we send a short welcome email and then one lesson email each morning. If you have an account, we also send sign-in links when you ask for them. Sign-in emails are not marketing, and they only go out when you request a link.
The welcome email and every daily lesson email carry a working one-click unsubscribe link at the bottom. Using it deletes your subscriber record outright rather than flagging it, so nothing is left sitting in the database. You can also write to hello@drawdaily.app and we will remove you.
What personal data we hold, why we hold it, and how to ask for access, correction or deletion is all set out in the Privacy Policy. The short version: for most people it is an email address and a signup date, and requests go to hello@drawdaily.app.
11. Links to other sites
Some pages link to other websites, for example the providers named in our Legal Notice. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices. Following a link is at your own risk.
12. No warranties
Draw Daily is provided as it is, and as it happens to be available. To the extent the law allows, we give no warranty that the site will be uninterrupted, secure, or error free, that emails will be delivered, that the content is accurate, complete, or fit for any particular purpose, or that using it will improve your drawing. Consumer guarantees that cannot lawfully be excluded are unaffected.
13. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that, and because this is a free service:
- we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, business, opportunity, data, goodwill, or wasted time;
- we are not liable for damage to your materials, tools, or artwork, or for failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as outages at our hosting or email providers;
- our total liability to you for all claims arising in any twelve-month period is limited to HKD 1,000.
If you are a consumer, this section applies only so far as the law where you live permits.
14. Indemnity
If you use Draw Daily in breach of section 6 or section 9 and that causes a third party to bring a claim against us, you agree to cover the reasonable costs and damages resulting directly from it, provided we tell you about the claim promptly and do not settle it without your agreement. This does not apply to ordinary personal use, or to any part of a claim caused by our own acts.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The effective date at the top shows the current version. If a change materially affects your rights, we will flag it in the daily email or on the site before it takes effect. Continuing to use Draw Daily after that means you accept the update.
16. Ending things
You can stop at any time: unsubscribe from any lesson email, or write to hello@drawdaily.app to have your account and its records deleted. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms in a way that harms the service or other people, or if we discontinue the service. Where practical, we will tell you why first. Sections 7 to 9 and 12 to 18 continue to apply afterwards.
17. Governing law and where disputes go
These terms, and any dispute arising from them, are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and the courts of Hong Kong have non-exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, this does not take away the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence, and you may be able to bring proceedings in your local courts.
18. Odds and ends
- If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
- If we do not enforce something straight away, we can still enforce it later.
- Nobody other than you and DFRT Limited has rights under these terms.
- These terms, the Privacy Policy and the Legal Notice are the whole agreement between us about Draw Daily.
19. Contact
Email is the only way to reach us, and it is a real inbox that a person reads.
